Frequently asked questions
Quick answers about buying tickets, seats, refunds and organizing events on Ticketzy.
Buying tickets
How do I buy tickets?
Open an event, choose your tickets or seats and continue to checkout. You need to be logged in to check out. Browsing events is open to everyone.
Is real money charged?
No. Ticketzy is a portfolio demo and payments are simulated. No card is needed and no money moves.
Do prices include fees?
The price you see is the price you pay. Ticketzy’s commission is taken from the organizer’s payout, it is never added on top of the ticket price.
Seats and the 120-second hold
How many seats can I pick?
You can hold up to 8 seats at a time.
What is the 120-second hold?
When you pick seats and continue, they are held for you for 120 seconds so nobody else can take them while you pay. A countdown on the checkout page shows the time left.
What happens when the time runs out?
The hold ends, the seats are released for other people and your unpaid order expires. Go back to the seat map and choose again. Nothing is charged.
A seat I wanted was taken. Why?
Seats are first come, first served. If someone else held or bought a seat before you, the map shows it as unavailable and you can pick another one.
Why is the hold so short?
120 seconds is the default of this demo, so the hold is easy to see in action. It is a server setting that a real service would set longer.
Refunds
Can I get a refund?
Yes, until 23:59 on the day before the event, in the time zone of the venue. For an event on 15 November in Seoul, you can refund until 23:59 Seoul time on 14 November. After that the order can no longer be refunded.
Can I refund only some of my tickets?
No. A refund covers the whole order, and it is only possible while none of the tickets in the order have been used.
How do I ask for a refund?
Open the order from Orders in your account and use the refund panel. It shows the deadline in the venue’s time zone and the amount before you confirm.
What if the event is cancelled?
When an event is cancelled, its paid orders are refunded.
Do I get real money back?
No. Payments are simulated, so refunds are too: the order and its tickets change status and no money moves.
Tickets and QR check-in
Where are my tickets?
After payment, open Tickets in the account menu. Each ticket has its own page with a QR code.
How does check-in work?
At the entrance, staff scan the QR code of your ticket with the organizer’s check-in page. A ticket works once: after it is scanned it shows as used.
Do I need to print my ticket?
No. Show the QR code on your phone.
Is it safe to share a picture of my QR code?
No. Whoever scans a valid code first gets in, so keep your QR codes private.
Organizers
How do I sell tickets?
Sign up with an organizer account. An administrator checks the account before you can create events, and approves each event before it goes on sale.
What does Ticketzy charge organizers?
A commission on each order, taken from the organizer’s payout: 10 % by default, 7 % after 5 completed events and 5 % after 20. An administrator can set a special rate for an account. Buyers never pay it.
How do I check people in?
Use Check-in in the organizer dashboard. Scan the QR code of a ticket with the camera or type its code.
Can I contact the Ticketzy team?
Yes. Logged-in organizers have a messaging inbox in the dashboard for conversations with the Ticketzy administrators.
Are payouts real?
No. Payout figures are calculated from simulated orders and no money is sent.
Accounts
Do I need an account?
You can browse events without one. You need an account to buy tickets, like events and write comments.
How do I create an account?
Use Sign up, choose a buyer or an organizer account and enter your email and a password.
I forgot my password.
Password reset is not available in this demo. You can create a new account with another email.
Which languages and themes are available?
English, Korean, Russian and Uzbek, in a light or a dark theme. Use the buttons in the top bar; your choice is remembered on this device.
What data do you keep?
See the Privacy page. It is sample text written for this demo.
